The percussionist, songwriter, and vocalist Davi Vieira was born in Salvador-Bahia, Brazil, where he studied capoeira, percussion, and dance. For ten years, he performed in the off-Broadway show Stomp.  The music on this evening’s program combines the rhythms of his native Brazil with beats and vocal stylings of hip-hop in music that is both propelling and celebratory.
