Ron Affif Trio
Monday, February 27
9:30 PM to late night
Founded in 1996 by Guitarist Ron Affif, Monday nights at Zinc quickly became the new spot to hear cutting edge jazz rooted in Bebop. Developed with bassist Essiet Okon Essiet and Drummer Jeff "Tain" Watts, Mondays grew into the hottest, hippest, and most innovative jazz session of our time. Affif's style is reminiscent of Wes Montgomery and George Benson, and Benson once described Affif playing as his, "favorite type of guitar player... one that plays with fire."
Ron Affif continues to preside over the weekly affair pushing the boundaries of the jazz guitar trio along with many highly acclaimed musicians in his rhythm section.
