Monika Oliveira & The Brazilians
Monika Oliveira is a singer/songwriter, a native of Rio de Janeiro, living and performing in the United States. She is a fresh and exciting vocal presence on the Brazilian music scene today in New York. Monika's voice enchants and entrances through her innate rhythmic feel and phrasing. She has performed in many venues throughout the city including the famous Madison Square Garden. She combines her love of Brazil's musical heritage and her love of Jazz into a sultry variation on both - Brazilian Jazz that is at once moving and rhythmic, pure and passionate.
Monika Oliveira, and her band, The Brazilians, will transport you to Brazil. She is currently performing “The MPB (Popular Brazilian Music) Show”, a musical experience that incorporates popular regional styles of Brazilian music like Baião, Bossa, Maracatu and Samba with the sophistication of Jazz and the attitude of Rock and Roll.
Her positive high-energy stage presence, along with her talented band, are infectious and she engages her audience to join her on the dance floor for some Bossa Nova to hip shaking Samba. It’s obvious that Monika Oliveira loves her music and once you meet her you will love her too.
