S. Bach, Duke Ellington, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Eric Dolphy, Dmitri Shostakovich, Louis Armstrong, Igor Stravinsky, Charlie Parker, Olivier Messiaen, and Art Tatum.  Kyle also has a great love for Modern and Classical dance.  He writes music for and plays with a variety of dancers and choreographers, and especially loves the work of Jose Limon, Antony Tudor, Merce Cunningham, and Ohad Naharin.
He is a passionate fan of the San Francisco Giants baseball team, and the San Francisco 49ers football team.  His favorite sport, however, is college football, in which he closely follows and supports the Stanford Cardinal (Where his mom went to school), the Michigan Wolverines (Which his eldest sister attended), and the Utah Utes.  Kyle also loves to learn about a variety of subjects, including, but not limited to Math, Physics, Astronomy, World History, Religion, Government, and Music History.  He teaches at a variety of camps and workshops during the summer, and in his time working at the Sitka Fine Arts Camp, he studied and performed many forms of Dance, Theater, Acrobatics, and Juggling.  Kyle is an avid video gamer, enjoying many different genres of game, including adventure, fighting, first person shooter, and puzzle.  He loves to learn and to share his knowledge with others, and enjoys teaching music, especially jazz, to middle and high schoolers while he’s not performing or writing.
