HK « Kaddour Hadadi »

The saltimbank is a fringe, an original, a nomad tramp who paints his music with thousand and one influences throughout his trips.
HK « Kaddour Hadadi » is son of algerian migrants settled in a working-class suburb of Roubaix (North of France), who calls himself a "world citizen". He is a street entertainer with no boundaries, who wants to tells the world his revolts, his dreams, his madness. As Jacques Brel said: "the world is sleeping because he is too wise".
During the last few years HK can be heard in the MAP project (Ministère des Affaires Populaires, or Working-class Affairs Department). MAP released two albums (PIAS): "Debout là-d'dans" (2006), and "Les bronzes font du ch'ti" (2009). MAP also played more than 400 gigs in France and abroad (french festivals like "Printemps de Bourge", "Francofolies de la Rochelle", "Vieilles Charrues", "Solidays", … but also "Sziget's festival" in Budapest, concerts in Berlin, Alger, in Palestine, …)
Eager for meetings, music and commitments, HK starts a new musical and human adventure:
              HK and the Saltimbanks
Now accompanied on stage and in his recordings by his band "saltimbanks" as much gifted as they are crazy, the band is comprised of Jeoffrey Arnone( accordion and keyboards - who has also worked on the MAP) "Cheb Meddhy" on mandol (algerian guitar), guitarist Manuel Paris, drummer Sebastien Wacheux, Eric janson on  the bass, and Saïd Zarouri who is acting on stage.
In these days of major economic, social and world crisis, … HK and the Saltimbanks are saying "have done with it"! "Blow out the planet!" (Niquons la planète).  On hearing their music, you will quickly realise the lyrics are often provocative and fun, but always full of commitment.
The music is a creative and inspired rejection of borders and discriminatory lines between states or between different genres of music. It is a unique fusion of reggae, blues, hip-hop, chaâbi (algerian folk music), rock and gipsy.  HK's music is by large difficult to classify into any one genre as it is always evolving: nomad.
