Guitarist Toninho Horta and baritone saxophonist Ronnie Cuber are both tremendously successful musicians on their own accord, and together with their band with Bill O'Connell, Mike Richmond, Mauricio Zottarelli creates a special musical performance, November 9 at 9 pm. Horta was born in Brazil where he worked with Antonia Carlos Jobim and Milton Nascimento. Later in life, he moved to America where he furthered his career by working with Billy Higgins, Pat Metheny, Wayne Shorter, and Herbie Hancock. Cuber has had a background in different styles of music, his most notable performances being with B.B. King, Paul Simon, Eric Clapton, Steve Gadd & Friends as well as the Saturday Night Live band. O'Connell on piano, this show is filled with talent and musicality.

After a 40-year long career that has seen him excel as a leader, soloist, arranger, musical director, and accompanist for some of the most celebrated names in jazz and Latin music, Bill O’Connell can lay claim to a track record of challenging and artistic-diverse triumphs that few of his peers can match. As a recording artist, his 13 dates as a leader have drawn universal critical acclaim while his talents as a pianist and arranger have been tapped by a diverse range of noted soloists to elevate their sessions. Today, as both a respected educator and leader of The Latin Jazz All-Stars, O’Connell’s professional life brims with new opportunities to express and fulfill his singular music vision.

Toninho Horta, virtuoso electric and nylon string guitarist from Minas Gerais, Brazil has written numerous Brazilian standards. Pat Metheny has been influenced by Horta and called him "the Herbie Hancock of Bossa Nova guitarists". Toninho has played, recorded and arranged for the biggest names in Brazilian music: Milton Nascimento, Ellis Regina, Gal Costa, Sergio Mendes and many others.

Ronnie Cuber is a musicians musician, as well as one of the most gifted players ever. His gift is in his ability to function with somebody like Steve Gadd and then go record with Horace Silver, at the same time do a tour with Eric Clapton. There is not one of his records that contains any half-hearted playing or musical skating. When he plays, it's serious creative business and he tells a story.
