MÁRCIO BORGES is a famous Brazilian songwriter, co-founder of the celebrated Clube da Esquina. He is partner of Milton Nascimento, Lô Borges , Beto Guedes and Toninnho Horta, having songs recorded by Elis Regina, Tom Jobim & Miúcha, Sérgio Mendes, Wayne Shorter and Milton Nascimento.

His brother Telo Borges is a composer, piano player and songwriter who won the 2003 Latin Grammy for Best Brazilian Song , with Tristesse, recorded in duet by Maria Rita & Milton Nascimento. He has songs recorded by many Brazilian major artists, as Elis Regina, Beto Guedes and Paula Toller.

Recorded in early 70's, Clube da Esquina is today acclaimed worldwide as one of the most important albums ever launched in Latin America. In the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (Lisma, 2006), the British critic Robert Dimery presents it as "more than 'only' the equivalent in Brazil to 'Sgt. Pepper's', from The Beatles. And Márcio and Telo Borges are two important and active participants of this amazing history.
