Acclaimed jazz guitarists Bobby Broom and Peter Bernstein will perform with their quartet at Zinc Jazz Club on Monday, October 16. They’re supported by bassist Peter Washington and drummer Jason Tiemann.
Bobby Broom, hailing from Harlem and the Upper West Side of NYC, started playing guitar at 12 and debuted at Carnegie Hall in 1977. He’s renowned for collaborations with Sonny Rollins, Donald Byrd, and more. Broom’s focus on leading his own groups led to several albums, including “Plays for Monk,” “The Way I Play,” and “My Shining Hour.”
Jazz guitarist Peter Bernstein has been active since 1989, appearing on over 80 recordings and performing worldwide. He was part of Joshua Redman’s band and Diana Krall’s quartet, and has worked with notable musicians like Dr. Lonnie Smith, Melvin Rhyne, and Sonny Rollins.
